The three men riding the motorcycle were killed on the spot in the incident that occurred late on Monday night near Tandalja in Bodeli.
Three men, including two senior citizens, were killed in an incident of hit and run late on Monday when an unidentified vehicle crashed into the motorcycle that they were riding on, near Bodeli in Chhota Udepur district.
The three men riding the motorcycle were killed on the spot in the incident that occurred late on Monday night near Tandalja in Bodeli. The deceased have been identified as Kanu Rohit (53), Dhura Parmar (66) and Babar Parmar (62 ) – all residents of Vasna village. According to police officials, the men were returning after attending a wedding in a village nearby.
A police official of Bodeli police station said that while the vehicle involved in the hit and run was yet to be identified, the impact of the accident could be gauged from the fact that the bodies of all three deceased were flung in different directions while the motorcycle was found about 600 meters away from the spot of the accident.
“A case of culpable homicide not amounting to murder has been lodged against the unidentified driver of the vehicle that was involved in the hit and run… We have launched a probe to trace the vehicle that caused the accident,” an official said. The official added the bodies of the three deceased persons were handed over to their respective families on Tuesday.
