Three more IAS officers from state posted as joint secretaries in Modi govt

These officers will join Gujarat cadre colleagues in Delhi, including A K Sharma, P K Mishra and Rajeev Topno, who are in the PMO now.

Three more senior IAS officers from Gujarat cadre have been appointed as joint secretaries in the Union Government on Wednesday, taking the number of Gujarat cadre officers in Delhi to over 20.

Seen as trusted lieutenants of Narendra modi, G C Murmu, principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has been appointed as joint secretary expenditure, R P Gupta, Principal Secretary civil supplies as joint secretary coal and Rajkumar, principal Secretary agricultural, as joint secretary economic affairs.

Murmu, with over a decade-long stint dealing with law and order — first as home Secretary and then in CMO, had been handling legal affairs during the time of crucial riots fake encounters, when the Modi government was fighting petitions in Supreme Court.

Rajkumar has been credited with bringing in barcoded ration cards and digitising the civil supply system before he was given charge of agriculture.

These officers will join Gujarat cadre colleagues in Delhi, including A K Sharma, P K Mishra and Rajeev Topno, who are in the PMO now.

Besides,Hasmukh Adhiya had been deputed last year as finance secretary. Also, Gauri Kumar is Secretary Cabinet (co-ordination).
