Three persons were killed and several injured after a clash broke out in the Aamli-Chachoda village in Garbhada taluks of Dahod district on Sunday afternoon. The clash between two tribal groups blew out into a riot when the police forces got involved to control the situation.
The rival groups had set at least 12 houses on fire. Meanwhile,three injured unidentified persons were rushed to Barpuda Hospital in Dahod at around 4.30 pm with arrows struck in their bodies,sources said. Sources said that the an argument broke out after a local girl,belonging to one group,was allegedly eve-teased by the members of other group. Locals said that the issue cropped up when the community had gathered for Diwali.
Fire officials confirmed that three bodies had been pulled out of the riot area. Virbhadrasinh Solanki,Chief Fire Officer Dahod said,The three bodies were brutally assaulted. We suspect one more body was amputated and thrown into the nearby well. A search operation is going on.
