Pak detains 12 Indian fishermen

Ahmedabad: A dozen Indian fishermen were apprehended and their four boats seized by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PMSA) from near the Indo-Pak maritime border in Arabian Sea off Jhakhau coast in Kutch district of Gujarat on Friday. The fishermen were apprehended while they were fishing in Indian waters near the International Maritime Border in Arabian Sea,said Manish Lodhari,secretary National Fishermen Forum. They took along with them four boats Neeldeep,Badrinath,Shree Annapurna and Jay Shree Krishna,and 12 fishermen to Karachi in Pakistan.

Vastanvi: Panel records statements

Muzaffarnagar: The three-member inquiry committee of Darul Uloom Deoband has recorded statements of students and teachers of the seminary into the allegations against incumbent vice-chancellor Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi. Vastanvi (60),who hails from Gujarat and has an MBA degree,was elected V-C on January 10. He had reportedly said that Muslims should leave behind the communal riots of 2002 and move on and that the community did not face discrimination in Gujarat.
