The swine flu virus claimed seven more lives on Saturday even as the number of new infections declined slightly to 22.
Saturdays deaths two each in Bhavnagar and Rajkot and one each in Banaskantha,Kutch and Jamnagar districts has brought the death toll from the deadly virus to 118 so far this year.
Meanwhile,13 more infected persons were cured and discharged from various health facilities even as 144 others are currently undergoing treatment.
In all,about three-fifths of all the 633 people who were infected so far this year have recovered while roughly one in every five have succumbed.
Health authorities suspect the virus continues to spread rapidly in spite of relatively warm temperatures throughout the state due to dry weather and relative humidity staying below 60.
