The swine flu claimed one life each in Ahmedabad and Rajkot, respectively, on Monday.
While swine flu claimed one life in Ahmedabad Monday, 55 new cases of dengue were reported in last one week. This has ended up in four total deaths due to swine flu in the city since August 1 and 186 dengue cases in the month of September (till September 26) alone against 87 cases in the same month, previous year. A woman (53) resident of Paldi died at Sterling hospital where she was admitted on September 14. This records total 27 swine flu cases and 4 deaths from Ahmedabad alone since August 1.
On the other hand, the dengue in Ahmedabad has gripped 55 new cases from September 21 till 28.
Meanwhile, one swine flu death was reported from Rajkot as well. This has totalled up to 38 deaths and 323 cases in the state since August 1. Out of these 172 has been cured and another 113 are still under treatment. On Monday, 8 new cases were reported from Surat (3), Rajkot (2) and one each from Ahmedabad, Mehsana and Banaskantha.
