Criticising the UPA government for failing to react strongly to Pakistans inhuman acts,Chief Minister Narendra Modi Thursday described the demise of death row prisoner Sarabjit Singh as an extra-judicial killing, and accused the Indian and Pakistani governments of misleading people over the issue. Expressing grief over Sarabjits death,Modi demanded the truth on the issue must come out. He wrote on Twitter: Both, the Government of India and the Government of Pakistan have misled the people on Sarabjit Singh issue.
Sarabjits extra-judicial killing is yet another grim reminder that expecting Pakistan to follow the due process of law in any sphere is futile, he further wrote.
The Centre is unable to give a strong answer to Pakistans inhuman acts. The beheading of our soldiers and now Sarabjits death are two recent examples, Modi wrote on Twitter.
Sarabjit died of cardiac arrest in a Pakistani hospital in the wee hours on Thursday after being comatose for nearly a week following a brutal assault by fellow inmates in a high-security jail.
