Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) is launching a fortnight-long statewide door-to-door campaign from January 22 to February 6 to clear what it calls “the suspicions being created in the minds of the people about the organisation’s links with terror” following the arrest of some people reportedly affiliated to it.
Addressing mediapersons here on Friday,state RSS chief Amrutbhai Kadiwala said RSS workers would meet all categories of people,telling them that the RSS is innocent and that a misunderstanding is being created about it to tarnish its image with a long-term plan to get it banned at a convenient time.
Kadwadia said he even suspected an international conspiracy to weaken the “Hindu power of India” and to benefit multinational corporations. He claimed influential Hindu religious leaders were being framed,citing examples of the Kanchi Shankaracharya being booked in a “false” case and Swami Laxmananand Swami being killed by “Christian-linked Maoists” in Orissa.
Kadwadia also hit out at the investigating agencies and the media for circulating “false messages” among people on the alleged findings about some of the Sangh workers’ links to terror.
According to him,Swami Aseemanand and others arrested in connection with blasts were not involved in any terror activities.
“How could one believe the central government and investigators who had once detected the hands of Pakistani terror groups and their Indian helper Safdar Nagori in the Samjhauta Express blast ?” he asked.
