The Vadodara Fast Track court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing in the case of bail application of the accused in the rocket launcher case. The court was to hear the bail application filed by Mushtaq Ali Sheikh,one of the five accused in the case.
The court has decided to hear the matter tomorrow. The investigating officer in the case has already filed an affidavit with the same contentions,which were there in the FIR. The court will hear the matter tomorrow, said Hanif Sheikh,the counsel for the accused. One of the five accused has already got bail.
The arrests were made on September 1,following recovery of a locally assembled rocket launcher from the Hathikhana area in the city.
The activists have flayed the claims made by the police. The activists said the Vadodara City Police tortured the youths at a farmhouse while the families were kept in the dark about the detention for three days.
The family members of the five accused had earlier alleged the police had tortured the youth inhumanly,following which a team of National Commission for Minorities (NCM) visited Vadodara on Monday.
Relatives of two accused file fresh petitions
VADODARA: The family of the two accused in the countrymade rocket launcher case,have filed fresh petitions complaining about the health of the accused. Aminuddin Mohammed Sheikh,father of Zaheer Abbas Sheikh,and Usman Gaffar Shah alias Nawab,filed a petition on Tuesday. While Zaheer is having severe headache and falls unconscious,Nawab is suffering from incontinence problems, said Hanif Sheikh,the counsel of the accused.
The court has issued a notice to the jail superintendent to remain present during the proceedings and file the order, he said.
