According to Shahibaug police, Dr Kapilkumar Jayantibhai Parmar, a resident of Sardarnagar in Ahmedabad, was found unconscious in his hostel room around 8 pm on December 4.

A 26-year-old resident doctor of BJ Medical College (BJMC) in Ahmedabad, affiliated to Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, allegedly died by suicide on December 4, police said.

According to Shahibaug police, Dr Kapilkumar Jayantibhai Parmar, a resident of Sardarnagar in Ahmedabad, was found unconscious in his hostel room around 8 pm on December 4.
Shahibaug police station inspector KD Jadeja said, “He was taken to the emergency room where he died during treatment. The postmortem report is awaited.” A case of accidental death has been registered.
A senior doctor at BJMC said, “He had some psychiatric issues and was admitted to the psychiatry ward at Ahmedabad Civil Hospital a couple of times. He was on pharmacotherapy as well as psychotherapy. Looks like he injected himself with some anaesthetic but we can only confirm after the postmortem report is out.”
