A LOCAL COURT Wednesday issued an arrest warrant against industrialist Samir Shah who has gone underground since alleged murder of his employee Dinesh Daxini early this month.
Police had moved court Tuesday seeking an arrest warrant against Shah, the owner of Shree Rajmoti Industries and president of Rajkot Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Granting the application, a magisterial court issued an arrest warrant against the industrialist under Section 70 of the CrPC.
“Following the warrant, his name will be published in gazette and circulated among every police station in the state. Police of any area will have the power to arrest him after that,” investigating officer and assistant commissioner of police (east zone), Banno Joshi said.
Shah, who is also president of Saurashtra Oil Mills Association (SOMA) has gone underground after Daxini died on March 1. According to police, Daxini, who was managing a branch of Rajmoti Industries in Ahmedabad, was kidnapped by Samir Gandhi and others from his Ahmedabad residence, brought to Rajkot and beaten to death. He was also allegedly beaten by assistant sub-inspector Yogesh Bhatt in Bedipara police post of B Division police.
