Rattled by exodus of hundreds of people from Northeast from Vadodara railway station on Friday,city police on Saturday assured the people from the region that security arrangements here was up-to-the-mark and appealed them not to believe in rumours without verifying it from police.
If they come to know about any rumour,they should contact police control room to verify if this is true. If people from N-E require any help,then we will make arrangements for their security, Vadodara Police Commissioner Satish Sharma said at a press meet.
On Fridays exodus,Sharma said most people who boarded train to Guwahati were from outside Vadodara and had come here to board trains from Vadodara railway station.
Most people are from outside the city. They came here because the train goes from Vadodara. They said their parents and others had asked them to return which is why they were going. As far as Vadodara is concerned,all citizens are safe, he said.
We are trying to know about the N-E students studying at MSU so that we can take quick actions for their safety,if required, he said. Around 500 N-E people boarded train from Vadodara railway station on Friday.
