Parts of A’bad to see power cuts this week
On the same day,areas near Camps Corner on the CG road are scheduled to go without electricity for about four hours from 8 am onwards.
Disruption in power supply,which can last as long as seven hours,is expected in certain parts of the city on Wednesday and Thursday due to the “annual maintenance work” taken up by Torrent Power,official sources said.
On Wednesday,parts of Ranipur,Jamalpur,D-Cabin,Naranpura,Anand Nagar,Satellite,Mithakali,Rakhial and Odhav are expected to witness a power outage that could begin at 10 am and last till 5 pm. On the same day,areas near Camps Corner on the CG road are scheduled to go without electricity for about four hours from 8 am onwards.
“Power distribution in some of the areas will be affected because of the annual maintenance work that will be undertaken,” said an official of the Torrent Power that distributes power in Ahmedabad,Gandhinagar,Surat and Bhiwandi.
Industrial customers in Vatva area in Ahmedabad are also expected to witness similar power outage on Thursday.
Residential customers in and around Sharda Mandir road in Paldi,Navrangpura,Vastrapur,Vastral,Khokhara,Amraiwadi and Ghodasar,could also see similar seven-hour-long power cut.
Meanwhile,on Monday,several areas in western Ahmedabad saw a temporary power failure that lasted about 15 minutes. “It was caused due to a power trip. Such trips are very unusual. Power supply was restored in a few minutes though,” the official added.
