A large number of followers of the Jain community were present at Shrimad Rajchandra Mission, where CM Patel was welcomed and felicitated by religious priest Gurudevshri Rakeshji.
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Thursday inaugurated the 12th edition of Chintan Shibir at Shrimad Rajchandra Mission at Dharampur in Valsad district. The Shibir is being attended by 241 government functionaries that include ministers in the state cabinet and senior officials of the state administration.
CM Patel said, “Chintan Shibir provides a platform to move ahead towards development and doing works for the welfare of common men with strong morale and unmoved confidence.”
Quoting the CM, an official release said, “Prime Minister has developed the culture of always thinking ahead of time and staying globally ahead by continuous introspection through the Chintan Shibir.”
He also said the Shibir provides inspiration to continuously work for people’s interest while identifying the ‘infinite capabilities lying in us.’
The CM said all of them will justify the “opportunity of serving the people given to them by God” when they work with full sincerity. He also said that the Shibir will help Gujarat in taking the lead for making India developed by 2047.
The Shibir will have various sessions on subjects such as capacity building and evaluation, nutrition and health, green energy and environment, public safety and service-sector growth.
The tradition of having Chintan Shibir where top government functionaries brainstorm for three days was started by the then Chief Minister Narendra Modi in 2003.
Chief Secretary M K Das also delivered a speech. Das said the objective of the Shibir is capacity building to realise the aim of developing Gujarat. Das said that the three-day brainstorming sessions will become a medium of collective strength to move ahead in the direction of development.
Principal Secretary of the General Administration Department, Hareet Shukla, also delivered a welcome speech on the occasion in which he also gave an outline of the three-day Shibir.
According to the release, Shukla said, “Decisions taken on the recommendations made after discussions in previous Chintan Shibirs have given a lot of momentum to the administration.”
The participants reached Valsad Railway Station where the local unit of Valsad BJP, including Valsad MP Dhaval Patel, welcomed the CM and other participants. They then travelled in Volvo buses to reach Shrimad Rajchandra Mission.
