Amid demands of a regular Monsoon Session of the state Assembly, the state government has decided to hold a one-day session on July 19,which will coincide with the Presidential election.
Leader of Opposition Shaktisinh Gohil has written a letter to Chief Minister Narendra Modi opposing the move of holding only one-day session, that too without the starred question hour.
It is very unfortunate that the government has called only one-day session. It shows that the government is escaping from the responsibility of having discussion on issues of public importance, he said.
Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Law Pradipsinh Jadeja said,If there is no major business, the government can call a short session… Such short sessions were also called in the eighth Assembly also when Gohil was a minister… There is nothing wrong in merging the session with the Presidential election.
