One person held for stealing cars to bootleg

The officials have claimed to have caught the accused with five cars.

The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) on Sunday arrested a person for allegedly stealing cars and using them for bootlegging.
The officials have claimed to have caught the accused with five cars, including three SUVs, which he allegedly used to ferry liquor bottles.
The DCB officers arrested one Ketan Patel, a resident of Nava Vadaj road, with five cars which he allegedly stole in the past one-and-a-half year.
Police have claimed that Patel had been caught around five years ago while he was ferrying liquor in a stolen car.
Police have also claimed that after using the stolen vehicles for ferrying liquors, Patel would leave the cars at deserted places.
They said that in the past two years, he had stolen five vehicles, used them for bootlegging and then abandoned them in different parts of Ahmedabad and even other parts of the state.
According to the police, Patel has reportedly confessed to having  stolen 10 cars from different parts of the city and state.
