An NRI woman who had lodged a complaint of rape and criminal conspiracy against a number of persons, including a senior IPS officer, has moved the Gujarat High Court seeking a CBI probe in the case.

The woman had lodged a complaint with Meghaninagar Police Station, which has not been registered as a first information report (FIR).

In the petition, the complainant has also sought direction to register her complaint as an FIR.

In May this year, the woman was arrested from her residence in Vadodara along with others by Gujarat CID (Crime) in connection with an alleged land fraud case.

Later, she was sent to police remand for five days by a court.

She was shifted to jail and was later released on bail.

After her release from the jail, the woman lodged a written complaint with Meghaninagar police station making allegations of custodial rape and sexual harassment against a number of people including the complainant in the land fraud case and a police officer of additional director general rank.

The complaint has not been registered as an FIR and it is now being probed by DCP (Zone V) Parikshita Rathod.

The woman’s petition before the High Court is expected to come up for hearing soon.
