NRI double murder accused arrested

He had fled from the courtroom in 2011 during the hearing of the case after his arrest.

The police on Sunday arrested the key accused in the NRI mother-daughter double murder case of Gandhinagar. The accused was arrested in Nashik,Maharashtra. He had fled from the courtroom in 2011 during the hearing of the case after his arrest.

In 2011,Madhu (52) and her daughter Nupur Trivedi (28) a doctor by profession,residents of Sector 6,Gandhinagar,were stabbed to death and gold and cash from their house stolen. The incident happened a week ahead of Nupur’s wedding. The main conspirator was Aamin Badshah Mansuri (27) a neighbour of the Trivedis.

The Gandhinagar police said that Mansuri was absconding since the last one year and changed various locations to escape police. After much efforts the Gandhinagar police got a tip off that Mansuri was hiding in Nashik. Gandhinagar SP Sharad Singhal said,“Mansuri was hiding in Maharashtra and our local crime branch had a tip off that he was going to carry out a loot in Nashik. The Gandhinagar local crime branch team arranged a watch near the crime spot and when he was about to escape from the spot,the team arrested him. He tried to flee. However,with the help of Nashik police he was arrested and stolen arms recovered from him.”
