NRI arrested after wife complains of harassment

A Non-Resident Indian (NRI),originally from Rajkot,was arrested by police from his residence in the city on Tuesday night after his wife filed a complaint alleging harassment and abuse by him and other family members. Acting on a complaint filed by one Radhika Thakkar (26) earlier in the day,city police arrested Hiren Thakkar from his residence on Amin Marg at 8.40pm. In her complaint,Radhika alleged that her husband abused her verbally and physically in Australia,where they are living. The couple had got married in 2008 and had been living in Melbourne.
