With no new diarrhea cases registered on Thursday,the cholera outbreak in Sabarkanthas Dhanera town has been declared as over,according to a top health official.
The situation in Navsari also appears to be improving,with the five cases reported on Thursday being diagnosed with simple gastroentisis and not effortless diarrhea (a term used to describe cholera).
Dhanera has stabilised,and there have been no more cases today. The cholera outbreak there has been declared as over.
The situation in Navsari too is improving,and by tomorrow or day after,we may be able to declare the outbreak over in Navsari as well, said Dr Dinkar Raval,deputy director (epidemics) of the state Health and Family Welfare Department.
