SSNNL Managing Director Radhakant Tripathi said: “The Nigam is planning for maintenance and repair works with the help of Water Users Association (WUA) which is there in every village. SSNNL will begin this project by November. At present,we won’t be able to get labourers as all the villagers are busy in harvesting the crops.”

Dahod District Rural Development Authority (DRDA) Director Ashok Sharma said: “SSNNL and Sardar Sarovar Puna Vashat (SSPA) have planned 65 works worth Rs 69 lakh this year. Most of the works are related to maintenance and small repairs. We have checked that the work assigned to these villagers doesn’t overlap with other agencies. SSNNL had submitted these projects and they have been approved by DRDA.”

Similarly,in Vadodara nearly 1,014 works worth Rs 8 crores have been planned, sources said.
