Students of National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Gandhinagar called off their strike on Tuesday following a verbal assurance from the institutes director of a partial rollback of the fee hike announced recently. The students,who had been protesting since March 14,were informed by NIFT director Sameeta Rajorathat the fees for both NRI and Indian students would be hiked only by 10 per cent. Following the assurance,the students have started attending classes.
The institute has said it will also reschedule some of the mid-term exams and submissions,which many students had skipped because of protests on fee hike.
