NCW member to visit Dahod to probe attack on MP

A member of National Commission for Women,Nirmala Samant,will visit Dohad on Tuesday to record statements of officials over the alleged manhandling of the local Congress MP.

Vadodara: A member of National Commission for Women (NCW),Nirmala Samant,will visit Dohad on Tuesday to record statements of officials over the alleged manhandling of the local Congress MP.

On her arrival here on Monday,Samant told reporters that during her visit to Dahod,she would meet the district collector,DSP and others to record their statements over manhandling of Lok Sabha MP Prabha Taviyad on Gujarat Formation Day celebrations on May 1.

“I will submit my report to the Commission and suggest steps to prevent such type of incidents and also recommend action against those responsible for it,” Samant said.

The workers of city unit of Congress party met her on Monday and demanded strict action against those responsible for attack on Taviyad.

Surat school’s trustee,clerk in ACB net

SURAT: A trustee of New Model School at Udhna and a clerk were arrested by Anti-Corruption Bureau officials for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 18,000 from a woman who was seeking admission for his two daughters in standards 7 and 8. Sushila Rao,trustee,had allegedly demanded Rs 20,000 from one Sita Desai when she approached the school for admission of her two daughters.
