When Narendra Modi moves to Delhi, he is likely to take some of his trusted men along. The core team at CMO includes Chief Principal secretary K Kaliashnathan, additional principal secretary A K Sharma, Principal secretary G C Murmu and latest entrant joint-secretary Vijay Nehra.
Sources in the CMO maintain that Modi is likely to take one or two officers to Delhi on deputation. But officers maintained no time frame has been set on when they can be called to Delhi.
”The selection of officers will be dependent on requirements, both in Delhi and Gandhinagar. If Modi will need trusted men in Delhi, he would also like to keep his familiar members here to keep a grip on home state,” said a top official, who is tipped to be in the chief secretary’s race.
Chief secretary Varesh sinha, who retried in April this year, is on three-month extension. He, too, may be hand-picked for Delhi, along with other retired officers like I P Gautam, who has got a job in Modi’s dream metro rail project, post-retirment.
