A 45-year-old man from Chandola Lake area was castrated and then battered to death on Sunday. The victim has been identified as Narsi Devipujak. His mutilated body was found near Nilgiri Ni Chapra area in Isanpur on Monday morning. The police said the murderer had also sliced of the victims ears and shoved a stick into his mouth. Satish Gupta,the prime suspect in the case,is at large,said the police.
Isanpur police said Devipujak and Gupta were acquainted with each other and were seen together on Sunday afternoon.
According to the details of the case,Raju Devipujak,a resident of Chandola Lake,had seen the victim with Gupta around 3 pm on Sunday. Based on Rajus statement,Isanpur police have now booked Gupta on charges of murder. The police suspect,the fact that the victim owed some money to Gupta,might have provoked the incident,though the actual reason behind the murder is yet to be ascertained. Isanpur Inspector B K Sanghavi said: We have been told that a tiff over a gambling session between the victim and the suspect may be the reason behind the murder. We are,however,yet to ascertain this.
