M S University (MSU) has taken an environment-friendly initiative by reducing paperwork in their daily administrative purposes.

The university has decided to assign codes to every academic unit at MSU’s intranet facility.

Now,any department carrying a specific code will be directly sent an official circular by the MSU authorities, thereby reducing cost of stationery.

While the primary phase of coding every department is going on,the intranet work is yet to be sanctioned.

MSU officials explained that every department or academic unit will be given specific codes,so that the circular can be sent directly to the concerned department.

Pro Vice-Chancellor Prof S M Joshi said,“There is a similar kind of facility at the payroll department. Gradually,we will implement this in other departments too, which would further reduce the paperwork.”

Vice-Chancellor Prof Ramesh Goyal said,“Efforts are on to increase the efficiency of computers in the university.”

Recently,MSU authorities had sent a proposal in this regard to the Registrar,A V Gupta. He was, however, not available for comments, when contacted.
