Chief Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday put up a massive show of strength in the presence of his party’s national president Rajnath Singh, who was in Ahmedabad to attend the celebrations of 33rd Foundation Day of the BJP.

In his address at the venue of Sardar Patel stadium which was packed with BJP workers and supporters,Singh lavished praise on the CM,saying the world admired the Gujarat model of development. Calling Modi “incorruptible”,Singh said the Gujarat CM was the most popular leader in the country today.

The BJP chief also lashed out at the Congress for calling Modi “Yamraj”,saying the people would teach a lesson to them.

Modi, who spoke last at the function, attacked Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi for terming India a “beehive”.

“Two days back,I happened to listen to a speech by a Congress leader whose words are considered to be the party policy. I was deeply shocked and pained when he compared India to beehive,” Modi said without naming the Congress scion.

Accusing the Congress of insulting the country,Modi said,“…If you do not understand the language of people of India,go and learn from somewhere. Due to your ignorance,do not try to destroy the culture and tradition of this country.”

At his recent speech at CII function in Delhi,Rahul had compared India and China, saying while China is described as dragon and India as an elephant,India was really a beehive.

Rahul had also taken potshots at Modi’s “divisive politics” in his speech.

In an apparent reply to BJP ally JD-U’s remark that one could serve the country while working for his state,Modi said,“When we serve Gujarat, our goal is development of India through development of Gujarat.”

He also warned Congress against misuse of constitutional institutions against BJP governments in states. “I warn you that BJP governments in various states will not be cowed down by attacks of CBI or by use of the Governor’s office against them. You use all constitutional institutions against us. Your days are numbered in Delhi,” Modi said.

“You cannot expect Congress to change. But we are also not going to wait now for very long,” he said.

“Even Labour Party in England took 80 years to come to power. But BJP came to power in its youth itself, because it is born to change the future of India,” Modi said to a huge applause.

Earlier,Modi joined state BJP president Ranchoddas Faldu to give a grand reception to Singh at the airport. BJP’s youth wing took out a huge bike rally from Town Hall to the stadium, where the entire state cabinet, including newly appointed national BJP secretary Amit Shah, was in attendance.
