It is an unusual incident for the region. There have been rape and gangrape cases in the past, but most of the times its by known people. The incident has raised concerns in the area, the Muli police said.
The police added that what has been more shocking is the fact that none of the accused knew the girl,so there was no motive of taking revenge with her or her family or any other provocation. The only thing that the girl, who is in a very disturbed state, could tell us that the accused may be of the age group between 20-22 years. We are yet to interrogate her nephew who was also present at the spot, said a police official.
