The Surendranagar police are on the lookout for four unidentified persons, who allegedly gangraped a 15-year-old girl at Daghodiya village in Muli taluka of the district.
The victim lodged a complaint with the Muli police station on Monday. The police said that though the sketches of the unidentified miscreants will be prepared, they are awaiting the medical report of the minor girl.
According to the police, the incident took place on Sunday when the girl was travelling on a motorcycle with her young nephew. The vehicle was intercepted by four youths in the age group of 20-22 years, who threatened the girls nephew at knife point.
In her complaint, the girl said that while two of them remained with her nephew, the other two took her behind cactus bushes and raped her. All the four took turns to rape her. After committing the crime, the accused looted the mobile phone of the girls nephew and fled the spot.

It is an unusual incident for the region. There have been rape and gangrape cases in the past, but most of the times its by known people. The incident has raised concerns in the area, the Muli police said.
The police added that what has been more shocking is the fact that none of the accused knew the girl,so there was no motive of taking revenge with her or her family or any other provocation. The only thing that the girl, who is in a very disturbed state, could tell us that the accused may be of the age group between 20-22 years. We are yet to interrogate her nephew who was also present at the spot, said a police official.
