The city police on Thursday arrested a 27-year-old H R executive of a private firm in Ankleshwar for allegedly posting obscene (morphed) photographs of a former colleague on the social networking site Orkut.
The Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) arrested Gaurav Joshi,a resident of Vadodara, following a complaint filed by the victims husband. The police said Joshi, who worked with the victim in a private firm in Ahmedabad, was fired from his job some four months ago.
The victim had spotted Joshi clicking her pictures on his mobile phone. Acting on the victims complaint,Joshis boss had dismissed him.
DCB Inspector K K Patel said: Joshi, who now worked with the Gujarat Guardian Company Ltd in Ankleshwar, wanted to avenge his humiliation by his former colleague. Patel said Joshi created a fake adult profile of the victim on Orkut on September 23 this year. The accused morphed some of the victims photographs which he had retained in his handset by using some nude and semi-nude female pictures. After profiling the victim as a call girl,he mentioned her residence and mobile numbers in the profile, he said.

The victims husband requested Orkut to delete the profile when she started receiving obscene phone calls and proposals over
the phone. But within two days after Orkut deleted the profile,Joshi created a new one, Patel added. As a last option, the victims husband approached the DCB for help.
The cyber cell of the DCB started investigations and tracked Joshi as well as the computer on which the fake profile was created. Joshi has been booked under various sections of the IPC and Cyber Crime Act.
