Major cities sizzle at 40° Celsius

Temperatures remained high across Gujarat on Tuesday with the mercury soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in four cities of Ahmedabad,Gandhinagar,Vadodara and Surat.

Temperatures remained high across Gujarat on Tuesday with the mercury soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in four cities of Ahmedabad,Gandhinagar,Vadodara and Surat.

Rajkot was about a degree cooler alongside Idar,the state’s hottest centre,while Naliya,the coolest place,registered just 33 degrees even in the afternoon.

Indian Space Research Organisation’s Space Applications Centre issued forecasts that show the sky over the state will be clear and the days sunny till Friday but temperatures dropping slightly in most places. Surat and Naliya are expected to be humid while gentle to moderate breeze is predicted for almost all areas.
