Lord Parekh slams Cong,BJP

Lord Bhiku Parekh on Monday termed BJP “a bunch of rebels” and said Congress in its present form would lead India to nowhere and that the country needed a new political party with “mass following.”

Lord Bhiku Parekh on Monday termed BJP “a bunch of rebels” and said Congress in its present form would lead India to nowhere and that the country needed a new political party with “mass following.”

“The present state of affairs in the country is despairing. Major decisions are being taken in Parliament without debate. Congress in its present form is going to take India nowhere and BJP is a bunch of rebels,” Lord Parekh,a member of House of Lords,told The Indian Express on the sidelines of public lecture at M S University here on Monday evening.

Lord Parekh,who teaches political science at University of Westminster,was in the department of history of MSU to deliver a lecture on Traditions of Public Debate in India: From Vedic to Modern Times. The Padma Bhushan awardee,who hails from Valsad district,is also a former vice-chancellor of the MSU.
