Wants it to stop industrial houses from developing land allotted to them till probe panel submits its findings
Bhikha Jethava, father of slain RTI activist Amit Jethava, has sent a legal notice to the state government, asking it to restrain the industrial houses that have been allotted land from developing the same until Justice (retired) M B Shah Commission completes its inquiry.
The Commission was recently constituted by the state government to probe into the Congress partys allegations of corruption, malpractice and preferential treatment given to certain industrial houses in the land allotments by the state government.
Jethava has threatened to approach Gujarat High Court if the state government does not comply with his legal notice within three days of its receipt.
Jethava sent the legal notice on Thursday through his advocate Anand Yagnik to the chief secretary and principal revenue secretary.
Referring to the government notification appointing the Commission,Jethavas notice reads,…if allegations of corruption, malpractice, preferential treatment and lapses on the part of the Government of Gujarat in the allocation of land to industrial houses and corporation are found to be correct, then the allocation will have to be cancelled and land forfeited irrespective of the development made by the respective parties on the allotted land without any compensation by the state government.
Jethavas notice asks the state government not to allow the allottees to develop the allotted land till the panel submits its findings.
According to the state government notification, the Commission is to give its findings by March 2012.
