Hitting out at BJPs prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi,Union Minister Jayanthi Natarajan on Monday said she was surprised by his touring the country when children in his own state were suffering without food.
We hear that lakhs of children are suffering without food in Gujarat. When he is unable to protect his own state,Im surprised as to how he is touring the whole country, Environment Minister Jayanthi Natarajan told reporters at the airport here. CAG had recently said that 66 per cent of children in Gujarat were underweight. She also questioned that if Modi cannot protect Gujarat,how was he to protect the country.
BP chief to share dais with CM at varsity function
BP Chief Executive Bob Dudley will on October 19 share dais with Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for the first time since the second-largest oil company in Europe invested in India.
Dudley will be the guest of honour at the 3rd convocation of Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University at Gandhinagar on October 19,according to a notice on the universitys website. Modi will be the chief guest at the function. Dudleys India partner Reliance Industries Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani invited him to the Convocation. Ambani is the chairman of the Board of Governors of the University. This will be Dudleys third visit to India this year. His visit in February 2013 happened against the backdrop of a dispute with CAG over audit of spendings in RIL-BPs flagging KG-D6 gas block.
In April,he met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh,seeking market prices for natural gas as current sub-market rates were not drawing big investments.
