Jamnagar divorcee kidnapped,raped

A divorcee was allegedly kidnapped and raped by an unidentified man and a woman at knifepoint from Jamnagar.

A divorcee was allegedly kidnapped by an unidentified man and a woman at knifepoint from Jamnagar,taken to a place in the neighbouring Devbhoomi Dwarka district and raped there,police said on Monday.

Police said the victim,a mother of two,was out to buy grocery near Pilot Tower area when a woman dragged her in a car around 7 pm on Saturday. A man sitting in the car threatened the victim with a knife and kept her quiet.

The kidnappers took her to an unidentified location in Devbhoomi Dwarka where the man raped her in a house. “However,when the kidnappers fell asleep,the victim escaped and went back to Jamnagar,” B Division police sub-inspector Shailendra Bhadoriya said.

In her complaint,the woman further alleged that after the incident,she received an anonymous call from a man who threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed the incident. Police further said the 40-year-old victim had been living with her father,a casual labourer,after her divorce 14 years ago. One of her daughters has also been married off.

“We are investigating in whose name the SIM card,from which the threat call was made,is registered. We have also sought call details of the card,” PSI Bahdoriya said. On the basis of the victim’s complaint,B Division police of Jamnagar city have registered a case of kidnapping,rape and criminal intimidation against two unidentified persons. Further investigation is on.
