Seven engineering students from California Institute of Technology will embark on a nine-day tour across India along with eight students of the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) from June 19-27.
Helping them do so will be an academic module prepared by the faculty at IITGN called India-Ki-Khoj.
The module will introduce these students to Indian mythology, arts and crafts, classical music, popular culture, religion, philosophy, architecture, civilisation, politics and business through field visits and interactions with at least 15 renowned speakers from diverse fields.
Rita Kothari,IITGN faculty and coordinator of the module, said,This is a flagship module launched by the IITGN which we hope to open to other foreign universities as well. The module takes students through India of the past, present and future, making them relate Indias ancient traditions of philosophy, science and technology to a present-day India and help identify continuities as well as shifts that India has made through centuries.
