HC notice to govt,IIMA on ex-professor’s plea

The Gujarat High Court on Monday issued notices to the state government and Indian Institute of Management,Ahmedabad (IIM-A) on a petition by former institute professor Rajnish Dass,who is seeking quashing of a complaint filed against him for impersonation.

Dass is facing a criminal case of impersonation allegedly because he had sent an email to various faculty and senior staff of the institute saying a handful of veteran academics of the B-school were involved in plagiarism.

An administrator staff of IIM-A has lodged a complaint against Dass with the Ahmedabad Detection of Crime Branch (DCB) under the provisions of Indian Penal Code and Information Technology Act.

A single-judge bench of Justice R H Shukla issued notice to the respondents — IIMA and the state government — and posted the matter for hearing on October 8.
