D K Trivedi Commission on Tuesday reserved its order for October 29 on a petition by Asaram Bapu in which the latter demanded that the Commission should come to his ashram if it wanted to question him as a witness because of a number of reasons including that of law and order.
The Commission is probing into the circumstances under which two minor boys from the Asaram Ashram-run gurukul were found dead after they went missing in July 2008.
Asaram was summoned by the Commission last week. However, instead of appearing before the Commission,he moved an application before the it while contenting that he could not appear before the Commission in persons because of various reasons and proposed three options for his questioning.
Asaram has proposed three options before the Commission for his questioning . He said the Commission can appoint a representative who could visit his ashram to record his statement. In option,Asaram said even the chairman of the Commission,Justice (retired) D K Trivedi, himself can visit him at his ashram to record his statement.
Asaram has expressed willingness to bear the cost of the visit. As a third option,Asaram also proposed that his statement could be recorded through video conference cost.
After arguments on Tuesday, the Commission has kept its order reserved for October 29.
