The Gujarat Vidyapith Governing Council on Wednesday unanimously decided to appoint Dr Anamik Shah as its new vice chancellor. Dr. Shah is currently a senior professor in the Department of Chemistry of the Saurashtra University at Rajkot.
Confirming the development, Vidyapith registrar Rajendra Khimani said that Shah’s name was unanimously cleared by all the members of the council. Khimani said that Vidyapith would formally communicate to Shah about the varsity’s decision and invite him to join the institution as its VC.
“I am happy about the decision. I am waiting for a formal invitation from vidyapith authorities,” Shah said.
