IN the last week beginning August 1, various agencies of the Gujarat police seized narcotic drugs worth over Rs 836 crore and arrested 14 persons, Minister of State (MoS) Harsh Sanghavi said in a statement Friday.
The Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), in two separate raids, seized liquid tramadol tablets worth over Rs 831 crore and 793.232 kgs of liquid mephedrone (MD), arresting seven persons. The MD was seized from a flat in Bhiwandi, Maharashtra, and the tramadol from a factory in Dahej.
The other seizures were of 25.6 kg of ganja (marijuana) and related muddamal (property related to crime) worth Rs 2.38 lakh of ganja (cannabis) by Western Railway and CID (Crime) officials in Ahmedabad city, Kutch West and Navsari areas.
From Porbandar and Gir Somnath, 12 kg of charas worth Rs 5.32 crore was seized during the same period, the government release said.
