Gujarat govt extends imposition of Disturbed Areas Act for 5 more years in areas of Anand town

(File Photo) The Gujarat government on Monday extended the imposition of the Gujarat Prohibition of Transfer of Immovable Property and Provision for Protection of Tenants from Eviction from Premises in Disturbed Areas Act, commonly known as Disturbed Areas Act, to certain areas of Anand town for the next five years till January 12, 2030.
With this, the state has also delegated all powers of the district collector under the act to the Prant officer and sub-divisional magistrate of Anand.

The revenue department of the state government issued two notifications in this regard on Monday.
Official sources said the Disturbed Areas Act was already in force in various areas of Anand town and that its term had expired on Sunday.
