The BJP-led Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) is set to launch a public outreach drive called 'Mayor Tamare Dwar' (mayor at your doorstep)'.
Local BJP leaders will also remain present at such events. The move comes when the BJP is feeling the heat, as RMC has been accused of negligence in connection to the TRP Game Zone fire that claimed 27 lives on May 25.
The BJP-led Rajkot Municipal Corporation (RMC) is set to launch a public outreach drive called ‘Mayor Tamare Dwar’ (mayor at your doorstep)’. Under the initiative, the mayor of Rajkot, office-bearers and officials will hold ‘lok darbars’ in each of the 18 wards to listen to people’s grievances. Local BJP leaders will also remain present at such events. The move comes when the BJP is feeling the heat, as RMC has been accused of negligence in connection to the TRP Game Zone fire that claimed 27 lives on May 25. Also, the civic body is facing allegations that close relatives of two BJP corporators are being allotted RMC’s affordable houses. Mukesh Doshi, BJP’s Rajkot city unit president, said the drive will be launched within a few days.
