Bollywood Merit

Suggesting to Advocate General Kamal Trivedi to convince the state government to establish a training academy for lawyers in Gujarat, Chief Justice (CJ) Sunita Agarwal and Justice Aniruddha Mayee on Thursday gave the example of Bollywood to emphasise the merit in good training. The CJ was heard telling Trivedi in the courtroom, “Like in initial days, if you see Bollywood, there was no institute, no training, no film institute, they used to go there (Mumbai) and try. Now you see the lot which is coming up.” Trivedi then termed the film school alumni as “exceptionally bright”, which the high court bench agreed to. To this, the CJ said, “Exceptionally bright and young lot. Because of the training. Training makes a lot of difference and then when it is structured, institutionalised, then it is not (relying on) somebody’s wish or will (to train someone).”
