Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday visited Navsari town for the first time after its upgradation from Nagar Palika to a municipal corporation.

Laying the foundation stone, Patel inaugurated development projects worth Rs. 475 crore. He inaugurated the Navsari Bus Port – the 13th such port out of 15 bus ports planned by the state government across the region under the Public-Private Partnership model.

Addressing a gathering at the Town Hall in Navsari, CM Patel said, “When Navsari was Nagar Palika, the annual budget was around Rs 150 crore, and now, after it has become a Municipal Corporation, the annual budget is around Rs. 850 crore. The entire area remains the same, but the budget has increased, which will bring more development in the corporation’s area. There will be all-round development.”

On a tour over the past three days, Patel said he had inaugurated development projects in different districts, including Rajkot, Kutch, Jamnagar and Navsari, worth Rs. 2320 crores.

“In the last three days, such a huge amount of funds has been spent on development, which will lead to easier living for the citizens of Gujarat,” Patel said.

Patel assured the citizens of Navsari that the flow of funds from the state and central governments will flow every year for Navsari’s development.

CM Patel added, “There was a target to build 15 bus depots across the state to bus ports, so that citizens should experience elegance. Today, we have inaugurated the 13th such bus port in Gujarat. These depots have been built under a Public-Private partnership, which includes banquet halls, restaurants, multiplex cinema halls, shopping malls, etc., so that people should have a better experience.”
