Gujarat BJP replaces its minority morcha president

The state BJP on Monday replaced its minority morcha president,Sufi Maheboobali Bawa,with Kadar Salot from Saurashtra,the vice-president of Minority Finance Development Corporation who is said to have played a key role in ensuring BJP victory in Muslim-dominated Salaya nagarpalika in Jamnagar district.

The state BJP on Monday replaced its minority morcha president,Sufi Maheboobali Bawa,with Kadar Salot from Saurashtra,the vice-president of Minority Finance Development Corporation who is said to have played a key role in ensuring BJP victory in Muslim-dominated Salaya nagarpalika in Jamnagar district.

A press release today said the state BJP has also appointed new office-bearers.

Salot said his elevation showed the party had acknowledged and valued his loyalty and commitment to it. “I have been in the BJP for 20 years and have ensured electoral victories for it in Saurashtra region. I have been instrumental in BJP getting 53 out of 78 seats where it fielded Muslims in the recent nagarpalika elections.”

Bawa did not answer phone calls.

The number of women vice-presidents of the minority morcha has been brought down from four to two. One of them,Ramilaben Bara from Sabarkantha,has been repeated while the other three have been dropped.
