While the Narendra Modi government is keeping mum over the allegation of snooping on a woman against it,the state BJP on Saturday claimed that the government had no role in awarding any project to Ecolibrium Energy Private Limited, owned by kin of the woman.

Instead,it is central government’s Ministry of New and Renewable Energy department that had given fund and support, the state BJP claimed.

An email sent by BJP spokesperson Harshad Patel to mediapersons

reads,“There have been speculating stories doing the rounds in the media about alleged favours given by Gujarat Government to the firm owned by the kith and kin of the woman alleged to have been provided protection and security by the Gujarat Police. The Gujarat Government had no role in awarding of the said projects to the said firm.”

She and her two brothers — Chintan and Harit Soni — are directors of the firm.

The email further stated that Ecolibrium Energy Company has not been made any payment by the Government of Gujarat for the Smart Grid Project in the Secretariat. This Smart Grid Project was implemented in the Secretariat by the Torrent Power Ltd,which is a private distribution company responsible for power distribution in Gandhinagar.
