Gujarat bags five national awards in power sector

The state has bagged five national awards for meritorious performance in the power sector. Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association gave away the awards in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The state has bagged five national awards for meritorious performance in the power sector. Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers Association (IEEMA) gave away the awards in New Delhi on Tuesday.

The companies include Gujarat State Electricity Company Ltd (in generation category); Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (power distribution urban and rural category); Gujarat Urja vikas Nigam Ltd (state reforms category); Gujarat Energy Development Agency (non-conventional energy category) and Uttar Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (rural electrification category).

The awards were received by P H Rana and P C Patel representing GSECL,R O Gandhi and K M Dave from MGVCL,P A Shah from GUVNL,Vagmin Buch from GEDA and P R Chaudhary from UGVCL.

On the occasion,Buch emphasised on the remarkable work in the sector,including generating power from the renewable sources of energy such as wind energy.
