The Gujarat State Commission for Unreserved Classes (GSCUC) held a meeting in Ahmedabad Monday in order to make beneficiaries aware about the education and employment assistance schemes offered by the body.
“It is the 18th district the commission has covered towards spreading awareness and the commission’s cause. Leaders of various social organisations representing unreserved castes and communities attended the meeting. We have appealed to them to inform and help beneficiaries of its various schemes so that maximum can enjoy them,” said Hansraj Gajera, chairman of GSCUC.
The schemes offered by the GHCUC include education loan, foreign education loan, food bill assistance, coaching assistance, coaching assistance for GUJCET, NEET, coaching assistance for competitive exams, self employment loan, technical education loan for medical and law and financial assistance for commercial pilot training.
The GUCUC was set up by the state government in October 2017 as an attempt to appease unreserved categories in the wake of the Patidar anamat andolan. The nine financial assistance schemes for beneficiaries, however, were launched nearly a year later, on August 15, 2018.
