GEC launches study of environment-friendly practices

The Gujarat Ecology Commission (GEC) on Tuesday launched a state-wide study of “Good Environment Friendly Practices in Gujarat”.

The Gujarat Ecology Commission (GEC) on Tuesday launched a state-wide study of “Good Environment Friendly Practices in Gujarat”.

The study would cover individuals,groups,government undertakings,private companies,cooperative bodies or government departments,and the process would be overseen by an environment communication group called World Around You. The last date for nomination is June 15,the GEC said.

“The top 25 practices will feature in a special publication,to be released on the basis of the outcome of the study. The area of actions that will be mainly considered while identifying the practices include nature & bio-diversity conservation,environmental quality management,energy conservation,agriculture & allied activities,waste management and other likewise activities,” said GEC member-secretary A K Verma.
