Two days after three dairies moved the Gujarat High Court (HC) against Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF) chairman Vipul Chaudhary,a single-judge bench of the court, comprising Justice A J Desai,is expected to hear their petitions on Wednesday.

The chairmen of Ahmedabad,Bhavnagar and the Panchmahals’ milk co-operatives filed applications in HC on Monday, requesting it to permit them to join in the proceedings that are underway on a petition filed by Chaudhary,in which the latter challenged a meeting called by the board members of the federation to pass a no-confidence motion against him. The three chairmen,in their applications, contended that they have a right to hold a meeting to decide Chaudhary’s future by passing a no-confidence motion. Following their applications, the court had sought Chaudhary’s reply to them and kept the hearing on Tuesday.

However, the Banaskantha District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Limited also moved similar application to be joined as a party to Chaudhary’s petition on Tuesday. Following this, the court granted Chaudhary a day’s time to file his reply. Further hearing on all the applications, along with Chaudhary’s main petition, has been posted for Wednesday. All the four new applicants have been opposing Chaudhary’s petition.

Last month,14 out of the 17 board members of GCMMF had requisitioned a meeting to pass a no-confidence motion against Chaudhary. However,Chaudhary was granted a stay by HC on October 25. The petition was scheduled for hearing after Diwali vacation.
