The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Western Railways Tuesday arrested four persons with fake Indian currency notes with a face value of Rs 6.8 lakh in Vadodara railway station.
Acting on a tip-off that four persons were reaching Vadodara Railway Station on Howrah-Ahmedabad Express Tuesday afternoon with fake currency,the SOG personnel laid a trap at the station and arrested them.
Initial investigations revealed that the four suspect were coming from Malda in West Bengal,from where they had sourced the money.
“The three belong to West Bengal and they were coming from Malda. The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) will conduct investigation jointly to find out the origin of the notes and where they were to be delivered,” police inspector,SOG,Vadodara division,M N Vaghela said.
The arrested include Abdul Sheikh,Sharif Ali Sheikh,Amirullah Rehman Iftikar,and Mohammad Rafique Sheikh.
